WALTER DUTE, FORMER NEWSPAPER MAN, DEAD


Assisted in the Operation of Amherst Reporter a Few Years Ago



Amherst, Oct 16, Walter Dute, aged 37, died at his home here early Tuesday.

He had been an invalid for about 14 years and had been confined to his bed

for about a month. A complication of diseases caused death.


The decedent was born in Amherst and had resided here practically all his life.

He graduated from Amherst High School in 1898. He was a member of the

Woodmen of the World and of the Knights of Pythias. For a time Mr. Dute was

associated with Harry Field in the operation of the Amherst Reporter.

Mr. Dute is survived by his mother Mrs. George Dute and a sister,  Mrs.Philip

Braun.

Note:

My records indicate that he was born November 28, 1879 and died March 16,

1916
