                   James A Moir,84, social worker

 

Melrose Florida-James A Moir,84, of Melrose Florida, formerly of Lorain, died Wednesday,

June 13,2001, at his home.

He was born in 1917 in Lorain.

Moir was a veteran of World War II, serving 44 months in the South Pacific.

He was employed as a social worker in Lorain County, and was also a partner in the L-O

Paint Store, Lorain. He retired to Lehigh Acres, Fla., in 1980, later moving to Melrose, Fla

. He enjoyed golf, gardening and his family. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Pat of Melrose; his daughters Leslie Harper of

Melrose, Fla., Marcia Beltzer of St. Charles, Mich., Patricia Fischer of Vermilion, Margaret

''Peg'' Moir of Mansfield and Lisa Cardoza of Ft. Myers, Fla.; and his son, Dale of Lisle,

Ill.; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one brother; and one sister.

Private services will be held. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Cemetery, Lorain.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Children's Fund, 2900 Rocky Point

Drive, Tampa, Fla. 33607-1460.
