SHEFFIELD LAKE Howard L. Smith, 73, of Sheffield
Lake passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010 in Community Health Partner's
Regional Health Care Center in Lorain while in the company of family
members.
Mr. Smith was born in Lorain on August 29, 1936, the son of the late Hartley
J. and Rosella (nee Schueller) Smith, Sr. He was a graduate of Lorain High
School, Class of 1954.
Mr. Smith retired in 1985 as a general foreman at former Lorain Products/
Reliance Electric in Lorain following 30 years of service.
He was an avid genealogist, a member of the Black River Historical Society,
Sheffield Village Historical Society and the Lorain County Historical
Society. He will be missed by the his pet Sheltie dogs: Savannah and Dakota.
Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter Dawne M. Smith (William) of Lorain,
sons Leonard L Smith (Catherine) of Sheffield Lake, Alan H Smith (Tracy) of
Sheffield Lake., Christopher H Smith (Zuhra) of Columbus, grandchildren,
Deanna N. Smith, Jessica L. Smith, Meagan L. Smith, Alyssa B. Smith, Vanessa
M. Smith, Dustin C. Smith, Abigail E. Smith, Zarina D. Smith, Tristan C.
Smith, great granddaughter Adriana N. Osburn, sister Leila J. Hoover of
Harrisburg, PA, brothers Hartley J. Smith, Jr., Robert H. Smith (Irene),
Charles E. Smith all of Lorain.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Diana Nova
(nee Fish) Smith in 1998 and a brother Richard C. Smith.
Friends are invited to call Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. in the
Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street,
Lorain, Ohio.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in the funeral home at
1:00 with Pastor Bill Dickey, pastor of the New Beginnings Church of God,
officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
