GEORGE DUTE DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS

George Dute, 65, a life long resident of Amherst, died early Friday evening at

this home on Franklin Ave. following a three months illness. Death was due to

a complication of diseases. For two weeks beore death Mr.Dute was

unconscious.


Mr. Dute was the oldest of 15 children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Casper Dute,

and for many years resided north of town. He was injured about twoyears ago

at the plant of the American Shipbuilidng Company in Lorain and has been in

ill health since that time. Besides his widow and two children, Walter and Mrs.

Philip Braun, there are seven brothers, Casper, Henry, August, Julus and

Anton of Amherst, Harvey of Wellington, and Jacob of Lorain, Four sisters,

Mrs. Nathan Miller of Wellington, MRs. John Krugman, of Elyria, Mrs. Albert

Kerns of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Fred Lowe of Weeping Water, Nebraska.


Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon from the late home in

charge of Rev. R.G. Armstrong of the Congregational Church. The home was

filed with friends, relatives and neighbors. Six brothers of the deceased


acted as palbearers. Burial was made in the Cleveland Street Cemetery.

Note:

My records indicate that he was born April 27, 1851 and he died  on March 31, 1916.
