Obituary--The Morning Journal--Lorain Co., Oh.-- December 16, 1993-Pg.B2 Bertha Mackert, 96, kin was early settler Sheffield Village -- Bertha L. Mackert (nee Schueller), 96, of Sheffield village, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1993, at Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin, after a brief illness. A native and lifetime resident of Sheffield Village, her parents were among the first settlers of the German area of Sheffield Village. She was an active member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Sheffield Village; and a member and past president of the church's Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed quilting. Survivors include a son, Lester J. of Sheffield Village; and 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; a son, Harold, daughter, Luella J. Izold; a grandson; a great-grandson; and her parents, Peter and Margaret (nee Kelling) Schuleller. Friends may call Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M., at the Bogner-Busch Family Chapel, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where a rosary, conducted by St. Teresa Altar Society, will be at 2:30 P. m.. Rites will be Friday at 9:30 A.M. Mass at St. Teresa Church. The Rev. Edward J. Luca, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Teresa Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Building Fund of St. Teresa Church, 1878 Abbe Road, Sheffield Village. |
